Visitor Center
Canyonlands National Park has some fantastic rock structures and colors for some unbelievable scenic beauty. Activities to consider while here are but not limited to: backpacking, biking, camping, fishing, four wheeling, hiking, horseback rides, photography, river running, star gazing and watching wildlife.
Canyonlands National Park is open year round. The majority of park visitors come during Spring and Fall and are lowest in December through March. The park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Park Headquarters is located in Moab, Utah and is open year round.

Ranger Activities
Overlook talks and guided walks are led by rangers April through October. Schedules are posted on park bulletin boards.
Evening programs are presented spring through fall in the Needles area. Contact the Needles Visitor Center for dates and times.
Rangers lead guided hikes through Horseshoe Canyon spring through fall. Contact the Hans Flat Ranger Station in the Maze for dates and times.
Guided Tours
Four wheeled drive and mountain bike tours, hiking trips, and river float trips are operated by commercial tour guides. The tours vary widely in the territory covered, length, cost and amenities provided. Tours operate out of nearby towns year round. Reservations are usually required. A list of Park Service concessionaries is available from the park.
Junior Ranger Program
Canyonlands has a Junior Ranger program with an activity book that kids can complete to earn their badge. Activity books are available at the Island in the Sky and Needles district visitor centers.
Both the Island in the Sky and the Needles districts have short interpretive trails that are ideal for kids, as well as videos and fun exhibits in the visitor centers. Kids might also enjoy attending an interpretive talk or walk.
